Bio:

Raelene Haak Van Horn was born and raised in California's San Francisco-Bay Area. Since an early age, she’s loved engaging in the creative process. Her educational experience includes a BA Degree from UC Davis in Fine Art and a Masters in Education from Saint Mary’s College of California.

As an elementary teacher for several years, she’s acquired experience with picture book content. This motivates her to create picture books that will engage children and their families in the process of reading. Raelene develops stories that appeal to children, their families and the educational community. As an author and illustrator, she hopes these stories will draw readers into the love of books and learning.
