Bio:

Born and raised in rural Arizona, I was fortunate enough to have parents who loved and respected the outdoors, enjoyed traveling, and felt that education and self-expression were vital in developing my character (I think being a middle child, sandwiched between two ornery brothers, built enough character!).
Writing poetry was one of many loves I had as a youth that helped me sort through the gamut of thoughts and feelings I experienced, especially as a teenager.
Although I excelled in both my English and literature courses during high school and college, I opted for an education in something completely different: Geologic Sciences. I love science! But honestly, it was one of the most difficult, and worthwhile, achievements in my life.
I graduated from ASU (Arizona State) in 2001 and worked in the aerospace and semi-conductor field for six years before becoming a "household engineer" (one of the toughest jobs there is...and most rewarding).
Soon after my third child was born, my interest in writing for children piqued. I believed this happened because I was completely immersed in my children's world - books, songs, you name it...
I am a graduate of the Institue of Children's Literature. It was definitely a worthwhile experience!
Nothing but passion, fun, and endurance from this point on...
