Bio:

I am a former preschool teacher and middle school/high school English teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in teaching. I belong to SCBWI, Willamette Writers, The National Council of Teachers of English, and am an active member of a children’s writers’ critique group. My credits include a number of retold folktales published in Cricket magazine. In addition to retelling folktales, I also write fantasy novels, both middle grade and young adult. I enjoy working with young people, sharing my love for writing, helping families make literacy a fun and important part of their lives, and encouraging writers of any age and any stage.
