Bio:
Born in 1952, I grew up in Pleasant View, Utah, a small farming community. After graduating from Weber High School, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in geology from Brigham Young University and then MS and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since 1982 I have taught at BYU in the Geology Department and currently serve as Associate Dean of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. I have written numerous scientific articles, as well as books and textbooks about geology. I have also served as a journal and books editor for several years. I have always loved children's literature and hope to be able to make more of a contribution in this area in the future.
