Bio:
Nicole Lisa has been a successful business owner for over eight years and works a freelance writer, copy editor and Spanish to English translator in New York City. As a translator she focuses on social justice issues including women’s and human rights, the environment, and sexual and reproductive health. As a writer, she focuses on professional development issues and fiction. She is one of the co-founders of the Love Your Job, Love Your Life blog and is searching for an agent for her novel, a young adult fantasy. Her non-fiction has been published in various newspapers and journals. She is currently working on her second novel.
Prior to starting her own business, Nicole worked on staff at several non-profit organizations, first as part of the communications team and later as a program director. She has worked in both the criminal courts and the family courts as an advocate. She received a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in Women’s Studies with a focus on women and race in the Americas and has completed a Certificate in Translation at New York University.
