Bio:

After nearly ten years of freelance writing for magazines and newspapers, Pamela's first non-fiction book, Straight Talk About Teen Pregnancy, was published by Crabtree Publishing Company in 2010. The challenge with this project was to explore issues surrounding teen sexuality and pregnancy in a way that was accessible for 9 - 12 year old readers. This is the sixth book in the Straight Talk series dealing with difficult issues teens face.

Since that first non-fiction book, Pamela has written 15 books for Weigl Educational Publishers. These projects have helped her hone her skills in writing for different age groups, from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Currently Pamela is working on an environmental-adventure series. These chapter books focus on a young girl's efforts to protect species in peril and the adventures that ensue. The first book in this series will be published by Orca Books in spring 2014!

Pamela is the Calgary Reginal Coordinator for SCBWI Canada West.
