Elisabeth Ford

Bio:

I was born and raised in Germany, with six brothers, lots of classical music and philosophical discussions.
Children have always been my passion because of their true interest in what really happens around them. I had the pleasure of raising three wonderful sons.

Unfortunately, I have seen many children losing their sense of wonder as result of rigid rules and regulations they have to follow and stereotypical thinking, forced upon them by most of the conventional mass media. It makes me especially mad when young children are already encouraged to play in distractive ways.

Working with young children for more than ten years and experiencing what they go though first hand led to the discovery of my passion to write. Before I knew it, stories unfolded in front of my eyes and found their way onto paper. All my life experiences started to come together, making more and more sense.

My first finished book is a philosophical fairy tale for people young and old: 12 year old Lisa plays on her ancient native flute, prompting accidentally the original owner of the flute to appear in her room. He is looking for his lost sister. After Lisa has overcome her first shock the two become friends and set off together on an adventurous search for the boy's sister, traveling between their two distinctive worlds. I translated the story into my native language, German and am in the process of self-publishing it in Germany.
