Bio:

I'm the debut author of NIGHTSHADE CITY (Holiday House, 2010), a middle-grade fantasy adventure featuring a cast of rats—both heroic and villainous. NIGHTSHADE CITY is a Bank Street CBC Best Children's Books of the Year, a Goodreads Choice Awards finalist and a semifinalist for the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award. THE WHITE ASSASSIN, Book II of the Nightshade Chronicles will release in October of 2011. My latest undertaking, CITY OF GOBLINS, an undersea adventure in modern-day Tokyo, is scheduled for publication in spring of 2012. I live in Chicago with my husband and our two (quite adorable) children.
