Bio:

I was born on September 8, 1960 in the small town of Chieti Italy. I immigrated to Toronto in 1962. During my early years many of my reports card stressed the need for my parents to read to me so I could better understand and write English! That was no easy task for them since they only spoke Italian. I was not daunted by this and I immersed myself in books, romance, adventure, mystery. I loved them all. Nancy Drew was one of my favorte series and I hoped to one day conjure my own private detective.

Much of my inspiration for my stories comes from the thousands of children that have enrolled in my preschools, Reggio Kids, over the last thirty years. Their childhood years have filled my life with laughter and adventure.

I write my books to capture the attention of young children by giving the stories rich content and creating characters that they find a small measure of themselves in.

I've been fortunate to work with two gifted illustrators, Gino Bucci and Luigi Cannavicci as well as a co author Franca Linardi. Franca and I have been friends for over twenty years.

My newest project, Tooth Fairy Trouble, is being illustrated by Rongyuan Ma, whom I found in the SCBWI illustrator pool.

A a writer my deepest hope is to see my books in the hands of young children.
