Bio:

Cristy Burne writes children's adventure fiction and is a science writer and biotechnologist. Cristy has worked as a science circus presenter, garbage analysist, patent translater, and editor of CSIRO's Scientriffic magazine for kids.

Cristy's first book, Takeshita Demons (2010 Frances Lincoln Childrens Books), won the 2009 Diverse Voices Childrens Writing competition and was selected as part of the BookTrust's 2010 BookedUp program in the UK.

Cristy has also won the Voices on the Coast childrens writing prize in Queensland, Australia, and was selected for a Young and Emerging Writers fellowship at Varuna House in the Blue Mountains, Australia.

Cristy's second book in the Takeshita Demons series, The Filth Licker, came out in 2011 with Monster Matsuri scheduled for 2012.
