Jane Heinrichs is an illustrator and writer based in the UK and Canada. She was born in Swaziland, grew up in a small prairie town in Canada, and is now based in London, England. She works from her studios in the Maida Vale/Notting Hill area of London (UK) and Steinbach, Manitoba (Canada).
Jane studied art history and classics/archaeology at the University of Manitoba, and did a masters in art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. She is recently finished a masters of fine arts in illustration at the University of the Arts London (Camberwell College).
Jane's work has been featured in many publications in Canada and the UK. In addition to her regular illustration, she is now exploring the imaginative world of children's books and storytelling. Several new stories are under construction.
The moment Jane was born in Mbabane the song "Born Free" was playing on the Swazi national radio. She has taken this to heart as her motto, and tries to live each day to the full.
