Bio:

My name is Rebecca Mudd, and I am a self trained artist based in Nashville Tennessee looking to further my career in the world of children's book illustration. I've always had a passion for drawing and painting since childhood, painting trees, wild flowers, deer, wild mice, whatever I came across in my grandmothers woods beside her house. I always excelled at art and wanted to create for others to enjoy, and dreamed of art school. But life got in the way. I never gave up creating art.

I have worked with children in my profession as a pediatric cardiac sonographer for over 22 years, and have a real connection with children and how their world's revolve. It took the birth of my granddaughter to ignite a spark. Why not do artwork for children! I adore children's books, and I can paint beautiful pictures! Hence my love for illustration was also born.

My first attempt was a picture book titled, "Henry's Rainy Day" which is was just for fun. I began selling my art and people began to notice! I recently finished illustrating my first children's picture book titled "A Happy Birthday" with Dreamland Books Inc. due late summer 2012. This was the most fulfilling work I've ever done, and hope to illustrate many, many more books.
