D. D. Stewart

Bio:

Born in New Jersey, D. D. Stewart has been making her way westward ever since. A ten year childhood stay in the suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky was followed by semi-permanent settlement in California. She attended Cal Poly University in Pomona, and meandered her way through a variety of subjects including Animal Science, Art, Physics, Astronomy and Ancient Greek and Roman History, before obtaining a degree in Botany with an emphasis in Plant Physiology. She has traveled through many of the American states, in addition to parts of Mexico, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
D. D. lives, paints and writes in a small community in the Sierra Nevada mountains, close to Yosemite National Park. Her work has been published in such diverse publications as Arabian Horse World, Spring Harvest, Journal of Plant Physiology, and The El Portalian. When she is not writing or painting, she takes advantage of the numerous forest trails around her home by riding or driving her assorted equines, walking with her dogs, or simply hiking. She also loves to sail, and deeply admires sheep and chickens.
She is currently at work on several children's books in the picture, highly illustrated, mid-grade and young adult genres.
