Bio:

I am a technical writer by day, which pays the bills but does not satisfy the soul. I write stories for kids but especially for the kid in me.

My first project is a picture book that tells the tale of a boy who doesn't wash behind his ears - with amazing results.

My current projects include a book about the budding friendship of two unusual kids as they search for something that fell from the sky. The other project is a book about a little yellow dragon who dreams of performing at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, and the steps she takes to achieve her dream.

I have a website, occasional blog called "A Three-Legged Rabbit Named Dave", and am on Twitter and Facebook.

I volunteer for SCBWI Ireland and am working with Jane Mitchell, our Regional Advisor, to increase our membership and provide information and services to writers and illustrators based in Ireland. I manage the SCBWI Ireland website and Twitter account, and co-manage the SCBWI Ireland Facebook page with Jane. I administrate the Scribblers Online Writing and Critique Group, which runs monthly from September to June. I also chair bi-monthly meet-ups in Cork city, at which writers and illustrators can get together to talk about our craft and socialize.
