Bio:

Frances grew up in Birmingham, England, near Tolkien territory, but made Canada her home in 1973 and now splits her time between Alberta and British Columbia.

She didn't enjoy highschool history because she was hopeless at memorizing dates so it is ironical that more and more of her writing is of a historical nature.

As well as fiction for young readers, Frances writes adult non-fiction and poetry. Her published non-fiction books are easy-read so also eminently suitable for young-adult readers.
