Bio:
Carla Ri′chard Small (born 1956) is a dog-centric ‘textile artist,’ and late-blooming poetess/lyricist. Originally, from Falmouth, MA, Carla and her (Now ex) husband, Harry, moved to Orlando in the late 80’s to raise their daughter. Small had the ‘accidental’ privilege of living in Rumer Godden’s house, located in northern India, her daughter’s birthplace. In her ‘day job,’ Small has earned the title, “Magician with fabric.” She is lovingly hated by the people who she has helped with turning their homes into warm living spaces, furnishing custom window treatments. Small derives her writing inspiration from children, personal life experiences…and dogs. Small achieved her vocal training by, sitting next to THE loudest singer in church…her mother. Small is currently working toward self-publishing, “Mr. Jelly Bones Small”, the first in a series of ‘book songs’ that teaches children what not to do around dogs.
