Colleen Kong-Savage loves decorative papers and collages them into warm whimsical illustrations. She comes from a fine arts background, where paper is also a prominent feature of her work. After earning a BA degree from Smith College, she migrated to New York for an MFA in Fiction Writing at Columbia University. Falling in love with the cultural hubbub of the city, she never left. Her first picture book, SUBWAY LINE TO BEDTIME, was inspired by her then three-year-old, an underground train junkie who nagged everyone for stories about their day's commute. Currently Kong-Savage freelances as an illustrator and graphic designer.
