Bio:

My name is Vita Mechachonis and I’m an illustrator living in Portsmouth, NH. I love it here on the seacoast, and walking out my door and inhaling the deliciously salty sea air. I love freshly baked carob brownies and avocados, but not at the same time. I’m addicted to yoga and I have freckles and fair skin. I’m left-handed. I’m really into listening to books on cd or online music stations while I work. I’ve got the most loyal well-behaved mutt in the world, and a wacky family. My artwork is bright and colorful, and like me, shows a bit of quirky humor. I received my BFA in Illustration at Syracuse University and start out every piece with pencil on paper, and usually finish them digitally, though I like to play with ink and watercolor from time to time. Besides doing illustration for the publishing/editorial markets, I also license my artwork in many different product categories including fabric, scrapbooking, apparel and toys.
