Bio:

Heather Dickinson has been illustrating books since the early 1980's. She has illustratted children's books including folk tales, school books and reading materials. Since childhood Heather loved writing stories and turning them into tiny books. Recently she completed an MA course in author/illustrated picture books at the University of Central Lancashire. While on this course she entered the Macmillan prize, a children's book competition, and came highly commended for her book, "A Mermaid on my Hand."
Recently Heather has illustrated "The adventures of Miss Mousey" series for author Lynn Taylor and designed the cover for a childrens anthology "A Pocketfull of moondust"

Heather's work is influenced by a love of colour, Europian fairy tales and early Renaissance paintings. Her main influence however is children themselves, having spent many years visually recording children of picture book age (including her own) in many sketchbooks. this resulted in a very visual dissertation for her MA course- "Drawing children of picture book age for illustration and character development".
Heather illustrates in full colour and black and white, examples of which (published and unpublished) can be found on her website. www.heatherdickinson.com
