Bio:

Monique Fields is the author of Look to the Clouds, a picture book about a girl who discovers her racial identity. Monique is a journalist, teacher, and blogger. She teaches reporting and editing at the University of Alabama, and she writes about race and culture on her personal blog, Honeysmoke.com. In August 2012, Monique wrote an essay about Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas' hair for NPR's All Things Considered, and it went viral.
