Bio:

I am the new Regional Advisor for the SCBWI Dakota as of winter 2011. As a very "green" RA, I have been learning the ropes and enjoying myself immesely. I'm not a published author or illustrator as of yet, but am finding intensified involvement in SCBWI a critical component of moving in that direction. No one can replace Chris Rylander or Jean Patrick as RAs, but I am going to give this my best shot.

In a previous life, I was a graphic designer, and have training in illustration. I spearheaded the creation of the Brookings Community Theatre here in Brookings, and currently attend college full time as a History major.

So much is currently going on with SCBWI Dakotas. There's a great group meeting in Sioux Falls each month with the help of Debbie Watley, and we hope to create critique groups as well. The new website will include a newsletter, an illustrator's on-line gallery, and more. In January, I was able to attend the NY SCBWI Conference and learned so much from the other RAs and the sessions I attended. SCBWI is a gift and I hope you continue your membership. Please send me any ideas, questions or thoughts on how to strengthen SCBWI Dakotas!
