Represented by Sean McCarthy of the Sheldon Fogelman Agency, Judy's debut novel MISS is slated for publication Spring 2015 by Candlewick Press, Andrea Tompa editor. Her work-in-progress, BURN, received first place for a young adult novel in the writing contest for SCBWI's Southern California Region, Spring 2013.

She’s the former Executive Director of the Colorado Dramatists and a past member of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts Playwrights’ Forum. Judy has taught seminars on playwriting and marketing for playwrights, and served as a dramaturge for new theatrical works. Most recently she wrote and directed an Art-In-The-Park touring comedy, featuring middle grade students and funded by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District in metro Denver.
A sometime standup comedienne, she was favorably compared with another ‘unknown’—Roseanne Barr. Judy was once the college acting partner of Weird Al Yankovic. She was taught to write comedy by television writer Danny Simon, who is credited with teaching the art of creating humor to his younger brother—playwright Neil Simon—and filmmaker Woody Allen.
Judy received a regional Emmy nomination, various honors for diversity programming, and has been recognized multiple times by the Denver Advertising Federation and the Public Relations Society of America. She was named winner of the Americana National Playwriting Competition, and has won playwriting contests in Denver, Oklahoma City and Norfolk, Virginia. Her work has been seen by audiences in dinner theatres, universities and community theatres across the U.S.
She graduated Cum Laude from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism. Judy lives with her husband and two sons in the Denver metro area where she serves the immigrant population as a mentor and tutor for at-risk youth and volunteers as fundraiser to build a maternity ward in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. She plans to return to West Africa in November 2013 to teach hygiene and water safety in remote villages in Niger.
