Bio:
Anna Angelidakis was born in Athens, Greece. Daughter of a sea captain, she spent her early childhood on board a 40,000 ton cargo ship. From The Great Wall of China, to the headhunters of New Guinea and across the Strait of Magellan, she was quickly immersed in a world where reality and imagination blended. She earned a BFA in Art & Design and an MA in Cultural Anthropology and continued to write. Her story, The Night The Birds Came, has appeared in Eight Million Stories and her novella, Iris Unbound was a semi-finalist in the 2003 William Faulkner Competition. She’s a member of The Society of Children’s’ Book Writers and Illustrators and PEN American Center.
