Bio:
I’m an illustrator and writer from North Carolina currently working on picture book and middle grade illustrations, spot illustrations, picture book dummies, commissions & my own story ideas. I am always sketching and thinking about characters. When time allows I love to craft in caricature random people I see in local coffee shops.
I earned my BFA in Interior Design from Winthrop University, and I am an active member of SCBWI.
My influences are cartoon modern animation, Bill Peet, J P Miller, vintage Golden Books, the textural paper collage work of Jack Ezra Keats, early Disney animation, Atomic Age colors, tree hugging, animal loving, humor, wit & ‘snark’. Deep down inside there is a satirist dying to come out. I love crayons, Copic® markers, colored pencils and cool bits of paper. In design school I was addicted to my Sharpie®pens and I liked to sniff my markers. Every once in a while you might still catch me with a little colored dot on the end of my nose.
