Bio:

After graduating from LaGuardia High School for the Arts and Performing Arts in NYC in 1994, Shameen joined the military. In May 2000, she graduated and received her commission from the United States Coast Guard Academy. In 2007, she received a Master of Science degree in Project Management from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Shameen is currently pursuing a career in writing. Writing projects include various military biographies, memoirs, TV scripts, the story of the USS Sea Cloud as well as children books about Coast Guard history and all the exciting jobs they do every day. Aside from that, she is also working on a YA novel/series for teenagers where the main character is ID.

Shameen is a native of Bronx, New York. She is married with two beautiful children. She is currently on sabbatical from the Coast Guard. While on sabbatical, she has completed the Institute of Children's Literature: Writing for Children and Teenagers Course, written numerous (unpublished) articles/short stories and has completed two unpublished children picture books. Nonetheless, she remains hopeful and excited about her future in writing!
