Bio:

A native Californian, growing up in San Diego and now living in northern California, life has always been an adventure. As an artist I started with a fine arts major, added commercial graphic art to the spectrum and finally rounded out the curriculum with computer graphics. Living in Hawaii for over a decade I was a member of the Honolulu Cartoonist Society and produced a line of decals for skateboards and surfboards. After returning to California I taught reading, writing & math at Kaplan’s Score Learning Center in Corte Madera for eight years.

As a writer I started by winning poetry contests. I joined Benicia’s 1st Tuesday Poetry Group in 2010, which is part of the National Endowments for the Arts in Washington D.C. Eventually I expanded into stories and I joined SCBWI in 2011. Combining story writing with my drawings has finally made a very complete package for picture books, chapter books and zany poetry.
