Bio:

Born and raised in Southern IL and honestly cannot remember a time I wasn't writing or drawing. After almost 20+ years of working in the corporate world (the last 5 for Levi Strauss and Co. which in my opinion if you're going to work for a corporation they are one of the best!), I decided to stop kidding myself by thinking big paychecks made me happy and pursue a creative career.

I am a writer and artist, the latter taking many forms. Painting (digital and traditional), drawing, photography, printmaking, film/video (I once had a video broadcast on MTV I co-produced - you know back when MTV actually showed music videos..)- you name it, I was probably involved in it at some point or another...

I've written for years but mostly to amuse myself. My mother was an amazing writer - she was born with the grasp of language as art as casually as some are born with brown eyes. Simple and pure. My mother fell ill several years ago and I became very aware of all her unrealized dreams. One dream we both shared was to get serious about our writing and work on a piece for publication. Sadly she ran out of time and it made me that much more determined to make the dream of publication come true. For both of us.

I recently moved coast-to-coast. 3,000 long miles! Leaving the SF bay area, my home for the last 30 years, was tough on several levels. First and foremost was leaving my adult son. Second was leaving my critique group and writing buddies. I'm honored to have founded and run both the MG/YA and PB groups in Lafayette and even more honored to call those writers my friends. I miss them so much but am excited to be on the east coast near the heart of the publishing industry. It's a pretty big silver lining!

I'm excite to be assisting the Delmrva region in setting up critique groups and looking forward to meeting all of you east coast writers! I've talked to so many of you online for years, it will be like old chums catching up!
