Bio:

Monika Godsmark was born in a small town in the South East corner of Poland and grew up in Germany.

Following a developing creative passion as a child she graduated from the University of Applied Science in Düsseldorf with a diploma in Communication Design.

Monika has since worked with children at the International School of Düsseldorf as a classroom assistant. During this time she has developed an interest in childrens' books illustration.

Through her work Monika has been particularly inspired by the creative use of different textures and structures and the impact these have had on the childrens' imagination. This has become an aspect which is present and characteristic in many of her illustrations.
