Bio:
As a first grade teacher I have developed a special appreciation for children's picture books. That appreciation led me to begin writing and illustrating stories of my own.
After taking a few classes at The Art Institute of Chicago, the world of illustration, book design and sharing meaningful stories was opened up to me. My experience in the classroom has given me a specific perspective on what makes a picture book great for learning. I am also an active member of the improv community in Chicago, which strengthens my love of great characters, their wants and their relationships in stories.
One day I hope to write and illustrate full time while maintaining a purpose in elementary schools. I have found that one person can have many passions in life and I feel that I am a living example of a lifelong learner for my first graders.
