Annie Brundrit

Bio:

Here's a little bit about my journey so far and what I am interested in... I am sometimes a graphic design lecturer and sometimes an artist/designer. I live near Norwich with my two sons, my partner and our dog. A little shed in the garden is where I make art. We recently moved and now have a barn, which I plan to run workshops from...

I love drawing – so much so that I imagine I re-draft the lawns each time I cut the grass in the garden!
When I was little I sorted my felt tips in order before colouring-in little rainbow blocks of patterns.
When I was medium I made furniture and clothes for my dolls, painted pictures of horses, made curtains for my bedroom and bought antiques and bric-a-brac with my Saturday job money (yep, sheltered!).
Now I am big I have a PGCE and an MA and still make stuff because it is both grounding and energising.

I love confident colour combinations, a sense of design, optical illusions, delicate detail and repetition. When I see a 1960s children’s book or a old tea tin, my heart smiles. As well as all of the above I like: my Granny’s sewing box, cards and wrap, fabric, typography, coastal towns, my garden, our needy whippet, books and long walks.
