Bethany Jewell

Bio:

Well now, a little about me...
First, I grew up with dirty toes and fingertips in the Appalachian Mountains.
Second, I have two feet that love to journey all across the globe and be an upside down yogi.
Third, I have two blue eyes that love to see the sunset and moonrise at the same time.
Fourth, I have two hands that have learned that serving others makes them feel free and alive.
Fifth, I have a brain that can really get geeked out on science, nature, and occasionally numbers. (Sometimes my ego wants to join in here and I have to tame it down.)
Sixth, and most important, I have a heart. It often goes thump, thump....thump, thump...especially when I hold a gluten-free cookie and sit near the edge of an ancient volcano with my husband, two kids, and old pal Tucker.

As for the creative professional "creds" Bethany has worked in the field of environmental management and sustainable development for ten years with numerous professional publications and small press freelance columns. She now returns to her studies in fine art and lifelong passion of children's literature. She is a SCBWI member and holds a Master's Degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Communications and Human Rights from the University of North Carolina Asheville.
