Natalie Groves

Bio:

As a young girl growing up in the Northwest, Natalie Groves drew the world around her. Inspired by gardening with her mom and reading stories with her Dad, she developed a love for the created world and for the sweetness of a good story with beautiful pictures.

Shortly after high school, Natalie was offered a position as "Chalk Artist" for Trader Joe's grocery store in Santa Barbara, CA. As a self-taught artist she received on the job experience that taught her to develop her own style, consistently create original ideas and enjoy meeting deadlines. She worked for Trader Joe's for 5 years until she met the man of her dreams and was swept away to the magical land of Iowa.

In 2010, looking for a new medium, Natalie began experimenting with watercolors. With new freedom creating outside the advertising world, she returned to her childhood love of animals, nature and story book sweetness. With descriptive lines and soft colors, her illustrations tell tales of animals on their adventures. Whether its a bicycle ride, picnic, or life in a peaceful and happy home, her illustrations share the importance of love, adventure and a strong family.

Natalie currently works from her kitchen table over looking the rolling hills of Brayton, Iowa. She dreams of one day illustrating a children's book, but until then, she will continue to be inspired by good stories, her husband's whimsical ideas and the cats, beavers and woodland creatures that scamper across the farm.
