Laura Lascarso’s debut young adult novel COUNTING BACKWARDS is scheduled to be published by Atheneum (Simon & Schuster) in August 2012. As a reader she enjoys thoughtful, psychological stories with flawed characters who discover meaningful life lessons along the way. Some of her favorite contemporary YA authors are Laurie Halse Anderson, Sara Zarr, Nancy Werlin, Suzanne Collins, Coe Booth, Melina Marchetta, Walter Dean Meyers and M.T. Anderson.
