Bio:

Emily M. Thomsen

Born in Chicago, Illinois in the early 80's. Emily grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood. She attend Franklin Fine Arts Center, a K through 8 magnet school. At Franklin, Emily got to experience all art forms but she found she was best suited for the fine arts. In 1988 a marker drawing of Emily's was sent to an art exchange in the then USSR to be displayed in the Hermitage. Emily attended high school at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. After high school, Emily attended Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design where she won a spot in their prestigious photography school. Emily then moved back to Chicago to attend Columbia College were she excelled in figure drawing and illustration. Emily's latest project was illustrating Mary Bonnett's "The Adventures of Cleaver and Whizjam on the Isle of Oogle."
