Amelia Loken

Bio:

I am a daughter of a librarian and have consumed books from my earliest memories. As my family would be uprooted by my father's work every few years, the constants in my life were my family and stories.

I never considered myself a writer. I did well enough in English class in high school and college. But nobody said, "You should consider writing." No, they said that to my sister. And its true. She is a great writer.

I am a storyteller. The writing is secondary to the story. And sometimes, that is obvious. (Very obvious, sob!)

But my desire to tell stories became too great to be confined to my family and my close circle. I decided to start writing them down. Several years and a lot of learning later, I have found my voice and my passion.

I am a writer of Young Adult adventure/romance novels. I love the traditional folk tales and fairy tales. I love history and culture. And so, I have melded the past together with a realistic version of fairy tales that have no magic, but a good deal of humanism.

I am new to the South, as my family just relocated here. But I am enjoying the open hearts and southern drawls that now surround me.
