Bio:

I was born and raised in Turkiye(Turkey). I followed my heart and moved to the States.Since then New York has been my home away from home. I have BA in Traditional Turkish Textiles and Handcrafts from Marmara University of Fine Arts in Istanbul and MA in Illustration, from F.I.T. in New York. I have illustrated more then 15 children's books over the years and three of them were NY Times Best Sellers. I love the way kids draw, without rules with bold colors, so I try to follow that in my illustrations. I work traditionalIy with acrylic on canvas. I also have been working in Fashion Industry for many years, creating fun characters for kid's clothing companies which helps me keep my illustration style fresh. Always learning, I am on the path of becoming an educator in Illustration. The streets and the people of New York, lights, shadows and colors of changing seasons and my daughter are my biggest inspirations.
