Bio:

Throughout my 35-year teaching career, my favorite part of the day was storytime...the richness of the language, the closeness amongst tellers and listeners, the emotions, the ideas, the fun...all of it was so great! Now, as a recent retiree, I am convinced that one of the best uses of my time would be to create books for others to enjoy with children, thus carrying on the age-old joy of sharing stories.

My cozy home on the Oregon Coast is shared by my wonderful husband, James Heintz - an artist and author in his own right - our dog, Samurai, guardian of all, our cats, Carrumba & Scheherazade, and Reno the parrot, who is probably smarter than all of us and likely to outlive us!

In addition to writing, I teach knitting to young people, coordinate a group of women who knits items for low-income kids in our schools, help with children's theater productions, cook for our local soup kitchen, and counsel seniors about the ins and outs of Medicare.

As a long-time member of the Baha'i Faith, I try to live the life by making service my worship and building community in every which way. "Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time." ('Abdu'l-Baha)

I'm new to all this publication stuff and so excited to get my toes wet!
