Bio:

I have always enjoyed reading and writing, but I fell in love with children's books after taking up an elective called "Writing and Illustrating for Kids" at my university. My first book is The Yellow Paperclip with Bright Purple Spots, published in 2005 and winner of the National Book Award for Best Children's Book in 2006. Since then, I have published 2 more children's books and 1 story in a graphic novel anthology, and currently have a work-in-progress picture book.

I am a proud Filipino and Third Culture Kid (TCK) in one, having grown up in the Philippines, Switzerland, Indonesia, and Singapore. I lived in 10 homes and went to 6 different schools across 4 countries - all before I turned 21. This unique experience has allowed me to find a home wherever my heart is grateful, among family and friends all over the world.

My parallel career is in a global consulting company where I am the marketing manager for South East Asia, currently overseeing the marketing function in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
