Bio:
Right up until I had to read one of my poems at a Young Writers Conference Workshop at age 11, I thought writing was bliss. I’m sure many of you can relate. There were other kids there whose stories were cleverer than mine, who oozed confidence as they pranced to the stage. It was absolutely terrifying. Since I loved language, I studied Spanish in college, and pursued safe jobs where I could use it. The trouble was, the joy of creating and chasing ideas could not be matched.
Now, many years later, instead of comparing my work to that of other writers, I compare the pleasure I feel from writing to the feeling I get from other challenges. As long as writing comes out ahead, that’s what I’ll be doing and I suspect it will be a lifetime. My current focus is on picture book manuscripts, and I’m eager to keep writing, learning, and perfecting my craft. Feel free to send me a message or to connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter. Happy writing!
