Paulette Ferguson

Bio:

Paulette Ferguson works as a free-lance artist, accepting commissioned work for portraits, decorative art of all kinds, and has recently delved into childrens' book illustration, working with the author, Lynda Denigar, to produce “Salty Seas and His Heroic Friends” and “Patti Pelican and the Gulf Oil Spill."

As a Fine Art Major at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, LA.,she focused on studies in Design, Composition and Oil Painting. She has continued to study privately, has participated in many art workshops, always working to improve her art. Paulette works mostly in oils but is equally proficient in pen and ink, pencil, watercolor and acrylics.

Actively involved in local arts activities, she is a Board member and charter member of the Arts Council of Livingston Parish and has taught both children and adults through their Arts Education programs.

Since illustrating the children's books, she has been asked to speak at several local organizations to share the experience and process of book illustration and her art. She is available for speaking engagements.

In 2006, she was named Artist of the Year of Livingston Parish, an honor annually attributed to a local artist by the Arts Council of Livingston Parish for their work and contribution to the support and promotion of the arts.
