Bio:
Regina Stone Matthews was born in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1952. She attended Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia and West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia. Currently Regina resides in Richardson, Texas with her husband, David. She has three daughters and three grandchildren. She is the author of the children's books "Elizabeth Marie Hutchinson-When I Dream," "Dealing with Margaret: Elizabeth Marie Hutchinson-When I Dream" and "I’m a Detective! Elizabeth Marie Hutchinson-When I Dream." Like Elizabeth, Regina grew up an only child. She has always had a very vivid imagination, which ultimately led to her love for writing and telling stories.
She is a member of the North 40 Storytellers Guild, the Rockwall Christian Writers Group, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.
All three of Regina’s books appeared in the June 2012 issue of the on-line magazine Enlighten and Enrich with a two-page article recommending her books as great summer reading for children. She also did a 35 minute on-line audio interview about being both a mom and a children's book author with Dr. Stephie Althouse, Founder & President of Moms Never Sleep.
Regina is available to speak at schools and other events. She has spoken at elementary schools in Garland, TX, Plano, TX, and Douglasville, GA, FUMCR The Gathering Lecture Series, Girl Scouts of America Writing Workshop, Barnes & Noble Authors Roundtable, Murder & Mayhem October Event at the Heritage Farmstead in Plano, TX 2011 & 2012, Career Day at Bullock Elementary in Garland, TX, Agape/Susannah Circle of the FUMCR, & The Woman's Center in Richardson Featured Speaker 2011 & 2012. In addition she participated in the 2011 & 2012 Snowball Express for Military families as a storyteller.
