Bio:

I am an author of many children's picture and chapter books. I recently rejuvinated my desire to write. I began working on projects in earnest in October of 2012. As of today, I have 24 children's picture book texts ready as well as four in the series of middle-school aged children's chapter books. I also have a collection of poems written to help people deal with emotional and stressful times.

I have just published two of the picture books in the Writing is a Process series (Brainstorming: It's Raining Ideas! and Publishing: Finally it's Final!) as well as two other picture books. I also have published the first two of the Gingerly series of chapter books (Gingerly and Gingerly's Bad/Good Day).

My background is as an educator in public schools in Texas and as a major account manager in the business world. I taught for 9 years, the last 4 of which I spent as a Reading Specialist and Gifted and Talented Specialist. I have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am the owner of a professional development company, Teacher Solutions. I have basically been dormant for the past couple of years as I recovered from a severe back and neck injury. Now, however, I am trying to get back into life and writing gives me an avenue to do this since I will never be physically able to do much.

I live in Eugene, OR with my husband who is also my best friend. We live with our black Labrador, Oliver. Life is very good and we are truly blessed.
