Bio:
CHRISTOPHER DENISE is an award-winning children's book illustrator and visual development artist.
His first book, a retelling of the Russian folk-tale THE FOOL OF THE WORLD AND THE FLYING SHIP was pronounced "a stunning debut" by Publishers Weekly. Since then, Chris has illustrated more than twenty titles for young readers, including the acclaimed REDWALL picture book series by Brian Jacques. His books have appeared on the New York Times Bestsellers List and have been recognized by the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards, School Library Journal, Bank Street College, Parents' Choice Foundation, and the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition. For his most recent book, "Following Grandfather", Christopher collaborated with the renowned author/illustrator Rosemary Wells.
A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Chris went on to teach at RISD in the illustration department and was nominated for the Frazier Excellence in Teaching Award.
In addition to illustrating children’s books, Chris works a matte painter and visual development artist for film animation clients including Blue Sky Studios, Reel FX, and Treanor Brothers animation
Chris is married to Anika Denise—a children’s book author—and the couple have published two books together: PIGS LOVE POTATOES, and BELLA AND STELLA COME HOME.
