Bio:

Rachel Zimmerman Brachman has written manuscripts for over a dozen picture books. She has been a member of SCBWI since 2002, and is currently an active member of a critique group for children's writers.

By day, Rachel works in space education and public outreach. She runs an international essay contest for students, and shares her love of outer space with students and the public.

Rachel has published articles for students in "The Planetary Report" and "Ad Astra" magazines. She is currently editing a new standards-based science and language arts space education curriculum.

Born and raised in Canada, Rachel went to university in Massachusetts and attended graduate school in France. She currently lives in the Los Angeles area.
