Bio:
Jane Smith loves paper. She has boxes and boxes of it, all organized by color. Her love of paper began with her first collage illustration created while attending the Columbus College of Art & Design, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration.
Upon graduating from CCAD, Jane and her boxes of paper moved to Los Angeles, where she began working as a freelance Illustrator & Book Designer. She was soon offered an Art Director position at Intervisual Books, a novelty children's book publisher. During her time at Intervisual and as a freelance Book Designer, she art directed and designed over 30 children's books, including the Zathura Movie Storybook, which sold over 100,000 copies. After making some great friends and gaining invaluable experience at Intervisual, Jane is now working as a fulltime freelance Illustrator/Author. Her published titles include "Fairytale Mix-Up," which she wrote, and "Five Silly Pumpkins," which she illustrated.
She is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, having co-coordinated the SCBWI-LA Westside Illustrators schmooze for four years as well as numerous events for illustrators.
Jane lives happily with her Graphic Designer husband, Chris, and daughter, Phoebe, in sunny Hermosa Beach, California.
