Bio:

Barbara Bietz loves books and writing, and writing books for kids. As a young girl, some of her best friends were characters in books and she stays in touch with all of them. She is a children's book author, magazine writer, educator, book reviewer, and member of the Barbara is the current chair of the Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee. Barbara’s chapter book, Like a Maccabee (2006,Yaldah Publishing) was honored with the Midwest Independent Publisher’s Association Merit Award for Children/Young Adult Fiction. In 2007, she was invited to be a part of the Jewish Book Council’s Book Network.

Barbara conducts book talks and writer’s workshops for children and adults and thinks the best part of being a children’s author is visiting schools, meeting young fans, and eating lunch in the cafeteria
