Bio:

My first book (written in college)was published in 1958, and I devoted the next forty five years to being a full-time writer. I loved visiting schools to talk to kids about books and writing, but I no longer do that. After publishing many books, I now write only short stories and often have a mystery published in the LA TIMES

One of the biggest thrils of my life was the Golden Kite, which I won for THE GARDEN IS DOING FINE in 1977. I've been a member of SCBWI for many years and I was a good friend of Sue Alexander's.
