Leone Anderson

Bio:

Born in L.A., California, but raised in Chicago, she pursued undergraduate studies in journalism,
children's literature, child psychology and music, with drama an avocation. She served on a public
library staff, owned and ran a bookstore, freelanced newspaper columns and wrote newsletters
for a railroad and a restaurant. She has written aticles, stories and poems for children's magazines
such as Highlights for Children, Cricket and others, some of which have been reprinted in literature and reading texts. Her published work includes ten picture books and two middle-grade historical novels.

A northwest Illinois co-rep for SCBWI, a member of Authors Guild, Society of Midland Authors and
ABC Writers, she gives talks, workshops and booksignings in schools, libraries, museums, book stores, for historical societies and for teachers. More information may be found at the SCBWI-I

Married to J. Eric Anderson, watercolor artist and architect, with three married sons and five grandchildren, they live and work in an over-100-year-old schoolhouse in the country.
