Loree Griffin Burns

Bio:

Loree is a scientist-turned-writer specializing in books about science and nature for young people. Her first two books, Tracking Trash: Flotsam, Jetsam, and the Science of Ocean Motion (Houghton Mifflin, 2007) and The Hive Detectives: Chronicle of a Honey Bee Catastrophe (Houghton Mifflin, 2010) garnered several honors, including ALA Notable designations, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Award, an IRA Children’s Book Award and a Science Books & Films (SB&F) Prize. Her latest book, Citizen Scientists: Be a Part of Scientific Discovery from Your Own Backyard (Holt, 2012), is an introduction to and celebration of real kids doing real science.
