Bio:

I started writing almost as soon as I could hold a pencil. I was a voracious reader and seized every chance I could to put my ideas down on paper. I won prizes for essays in high school and put my talents to use after graduating from college with an elementary education degree (and after marriage), by writing for a community newsletter and then working as a correspondent reporter and columnist for local newspapers. I eventually began to focus on children's stories, borrowing heavily from my own growing up years and the many escapades of my "gang of six" kids. The highlight of my career thus far was when Disney turned my book Me Two into a Disney Channel movie, The Other Me. I was able to go on the set and meet the director and actors. They did a fantastic job on the movie (which doesn't often happen, I hear) and it received recognition from the Parents' Council.
